When you have thought of making your storage facility look like an expert you will need to have plans even before the first box hits the ground.
Start with a plan. No colour coded spreadsheet. You have an idea of one. Large furniture on the background and the walls. Lighter boxes stacked high. Things you’ll need often? Those stay near the front. There is no need to add it, and people still hang the holiday decorations at the background of a mattress and a dismantled desk. I’ve done it. Regretted it in December.
Similar boxes could be considered where the need be. Same size, stack better. Random grocery boxes, that is a pressure and you are left with that leaning-tower effect that makes you nervous each time you open the door. In the case of seasoned products, expounded bins will also come in handy. Time-saving and no wastage of time on unnecessary digging, the possibility to see the contents.
Leave a walkway.

And this is just a decision that all makes this. This is punctured in the middle or on one side and one can locate the heart of the unit even without necessarily dismantling his entire system. A glimpse of the land of nothingness appears to be the first one. It’s not.
Label smarter, not louder. You will not do yourself any good in the future at this stage writing with large markers Misc. Be specific. Kitchen -small appliances beats Stuff. Go the extra mile you will be glad to have a list of box numbers on your phone and contents. Nothing fancy. A mere description so that you can recall half a year later.
Vertical is your prayer. The shelving units would also matter especially when one is using it in long-term storing. There will not be strong racks in the boxes making the space less frastic. The former was the first instance when I was not interested in buying the shelves. I changed my mind following one of the instances of the ineffective stack.
Protect what matters. Pull or envelop furniture or blankets or covers, especially wooden furniture. Floor space should be released by the use of wall stand mattresses. In an environment of wetness, the storage of objects must be outside the concrete in a manner that their storage is made in pallets. Such a measure is already so small that it is going to lead to the avoidance of some unpleasant surprises.
Borrow such alike things. Varied stock of merchandise and other individual properties. Another, sport equipment, papers. The zones will ensure that less time will be required to locate and reduce unnecessary shuffling.
Do not get tempted and dispose your storage unit. Whatever you have written, you can have a ten seconds pause and think positioning. The habit, however, minor, keeps sanity.
It is not a perv in the case of organizing some storage unit. It is all about being convenient and fast to revise it in the future. You would have your will and open the door, take what you like and clean up without having to sweat or empty half your life.
